Archie

Archie came into rescue from a busy household with young children, after biting family members. He was 7 years old, not castrated and not vaccinated, and came into foster with Trish in South Brink, Wisbech.

Foster updates from Trish

Archie’s road to recovery took real patience. Early walks showed a dog who was fine meeting other dogs but tense around people, and progress came slowly: a first proper social walk, a first relaxed sleep on Trish’s feet, the first time the fear in his eyes gave way to something calmer. There were setbacks too, including a vet visit for illness that needed him muzzled due to his aggression, and a difficult grooming and castration appointment. Trish eventually felt Archie needed more Westie-specific experience than she could offer, and one placement broke down after guidelines around the sofa weren’t followed and Archie reacted.

Archie found his experienced, understanding home with Jacqueline, who fostered him initially with a view to adopting, and later made it official.
