Gus needed to come into rescue after fighting with his siblings. He’s 7 months old and has been castrated. Gus is in foster with Sean, in Beckenham, near Bromley.

Update from Sean

Gus is a sweet boy with some issues we’re working through. He’s reactive towards male dogs when out and about, and mixed with females, so he’s walked on a secure harness at all times. He’s twice snapped at children and isn’t keen on joggers or tall men in dark clothing. At home he isn’t fully house-trained yet, and he’s very food-focused, so we keep him separated from our resident female Westie at mealtimes to avoid squabbles. Outside of that, he’s settling in and enjoys a pile of cushions in front of the TV.

Right now Gus would be best placed as an only dog, or with a strong, confident female dog, and not in a home with young children.

Thank you to Sean for fostering Gus so patiently. We don’t rehome to homes with young children, as we’ve had a number of Westies come into rescue over the years after being hurt by children pulling them around.
